We all know that I am cheap, and I love little things that are personal or handmade. So here are a few things in my house that I made on the cheap side that I love.
This is just our initials I typed up on word and printed off on regular printer paper, then stuck it in a frame we already had. Woola! FREE!!
I wanted something to go in the small space above the stove, so I threw this together with some leftover fabric and old silverware. I spray painted the silverware a watermelon pink, then put the fabric behind the glass of the frame, then I used liquid nails to fix the silverware to the glass. This was a free project too!!
This last one did cost a few dollars, $6 to be exact.. but it was worth the big bucks! I ordered a card from etsy.com and gave it to Jon for our anniversary, then I put it in a frame I already had, and used a piece of scrapbook paper as a backing. It looks great on my homemade shelf!
I love filling my house with personality, and these are a few great pieces that represent me! Cheap, Bold and Witty!!

Hey guys! I wanted to show off some of my newest gems! I am so excited about them. Thrifting is like crack to me! I can’t stop..ahh
So here is a mirror I picked up at Goodwill, $1!! I sort of like it as it is, but knowing me, I’ll probably take some spray paint to it as soon as it warms up outside.
And this cute yellow urn was $1.99 at Salvation Army. Great Right??!!
My best score… This baby!! $27 and I had a $10 gift certificate, so I only paid $17 bones!! Sooo Super! I am pretty sure I am painting this thing! It is sort of beat up, but still the best thing I have ever seen!!
This was a cute little vase I bought for 99 cents! Won’t she look cute with pink tulips in her?? And it is signed by the artist!! HA
A Globe!! it was a bit pricey at $4.99, but I’ve been on the hunt for one for a while. Its gonna go in the toy room, I think. I have it on a shelf in the family room and sort of like it there…
And this super lamp I just picked up for $5.99.. doesn’t it look like something ou would see for big bucks at Pottery Barn or something. I’ll have to look for a great lampshade next time I’m out.
And last were these cute glasses I picked up for 25 cents a piece. I love how there is a little boy and a little girl on them. I googled them and they are worth about $8 each! Woo Hoo!
Well, that’s what I have brought home in the past few weeks. I’m sure I’ll be out next weekend because it’s half off at Goodwill on Friday and Saturday!! Everyone go and let me know what you find!!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Its been chaos around here lately.. I don’t know why. The holidays are over, but it still seems like there is no time to do anything! My house is a mess and I still have a few Christmas decorations hanging around. I am trying to organize everything as I put it away. Maybe I will make that my new years resolution..organize my life! Is it terrible I never really set one? Does everyone set one? if you don’t set one does that mean you think you have nothing to improve on? Or you are realistic and know it’s not going to last, so why set yourself up for failure? ha?! If you were to walk into my house right now, you would think I am failing miserably at this organizing resolution.. ahh! OOWell! So, while trying to get my mind off the mess, I made a few lampshades. I love them both!
This is the first. My mom gave me a set of these gold lamps, they had cream lampshades that were about 20 years old. I just cut the fabric off and started wrapping. 5 packs of yarn later and I wound up with this cutie!!
So the second lampshade I made this week, was kinda messy. Burlap sheds, I love the stuff, but not the residue.. Oh well, it’s so cute, it was worth all the vacuuming! It was a cheapie too! Just 2 bucks! I bought 1 yard of fabric and cut it into 2 1/2 inch strips, ironed them in half and then hot glued them to the lampshade. easy!
I am oo so pleased with my new shades! Simple, but they look so fun and different!
