This year we tried our hand at gardening again. We planted a big one the first year we lived here and it bombed.. we made the mistake of putting it so far away from the house, the hose wouldnt reach it. When you live in Ohio and have very inconsistent weather, you need to water a garden! We also planted it very close to the woods and the animals would feast on the goods before we could get to them. So this year we tried something different. We planted everything in a raised bed right behind the garage. Near a hose and away from the woods. Having it close we even went out there and weeded and watered regularly. Amelia would help too (maybe she would just pull the leaves off the plants while shouting “I weed, I weed!”) Here are a few pics of our cute little garden. Pat would be proud!!
It’s a small garden, maybe 25 ft long by 4 ft wide. For how small it is, we have way more veggies then we know what to do with. We already canned 4 jars of hot peppers in oil, and we have a ton more we just picked. I guess we will be eating hot pepper all winter!
We planted Hot Peppers, Bell Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes, Edamame and Pumpkins! I can’t wait for the pumpkins!!
BTW arent my bowls cute? Just got them on a recent trip to Crate & Barrel! Love that place!
